A call for justice has emerged following an allegation of sexual assault involving a 17-year-old boy in Adigbe, Abeokuta, Ogun State, as the Ogun State Police Command intensifies efforts to locate a man identified as Kola.
The case was formally reported at the Adigbe Police Division on September 8, 2026, after the teenager, accompanied by his parents, approached the police over alleged incidents said to have occurred earlier in the year.
The Ogun State Police Command subsequently ordered a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large.
Police Receive Allegation of Repeated Assault
According to the Ogun State Police Command, the 17-year-old alleged that Kola sexually assaulted him on three separate occasions in January 2026.
The teenager also reportedly told investigators that the suspect threatened him into silence after the alleged incidents.
The complaint was made to the police several months after the alleged January incidents. The command said the matter only came to its attention when the teenager and his parents formally reported it on September 8.
The police statement was issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, on behalf of the Ogun State Police Command.
Following the report, the teenager was taken to a hospital within the Adigbe area for medical examination, while detectives began investigating the allegations.
The medical examination is part of the investigative process, although the police have not publicly disclosed its outcome.
Ogun Police Commissioner Orders Manhunt
Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, directed detectives to intensify efforts to locate and arrest the suspect.
Police said Kola was still at large when the command issued its statement.
The Commissioner’s directive means investigators are expected to continue efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the allegation, identify the whereabouts of the suspect and gather evidence relevant to the case.
The police have not announced an arrest or disclosed additional identifying information about the suspect beyond the name Kola.
The command has also urged the public to understand that the matter remains under investigation.
The allegation against Kola has not been established in court, and no finding of guilt has been made.
Group Calls for Justice
The development has also prompted calls for justice and proper handling of the case, particularly because the allegation involves a teenager.
