Former Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Victor Ikpe, popularly known as Keivo, has taken full responsibility for the physical confrontation that led to his disqualification from the reality show.
Keivo made the admission in a statement shared on Thursday, October 1, 2026, several days after Big Brother removed him from the “Show Ya Sef” house following a physical altercation with fellow housemate Tram.
The former contestant said he had taken time to reflect on the incident and acknowledged that his reaction was inappropriate.
“I’ve had some time to reflect on everything that happened and I take full responsibility for my actions,” Keivo said.
He added that although he had been strongly affected by the situation, physical confrontation was not an acceptable response.
“My emotions took the best of me. Regardless of how strongly I felt, physical confrontation is never a solution to any situation,” he said.
Keivo disqualified after confrontation with Tram
Keivo’s statement follows his disqualification from the BBNaija “Show Ya Sef” season on September 29.
According to the official Big Brother Naija account published by Africa Magic, a disagreement between Keivo and Tram escalated into physical violence.
Big Brother subsequently addressed the housemates and identified Keivo as the perpetrator of the violent incident before announcing his removal from the competition.
The programme said the incident constituted a serious breach of the rules governing housemate conduct and safety.
Big Brother also reminded the remaining contestants that disagreements, accusations and personal grievances do not justify violence.
The disqualification brought Keivo’s journey in Season 11 to an immediate end.
Keivo promises to learn from the incident
Reflecting on his departure, Keivo said he intended to learn from the experience and use it as an opportunity for personal growth.
He said he would work towards becoming a better person and continue making his supporters proud.
The former housemate described himself as “Keivo the Challenger, the Competitor” and said he would carry the lessons from his time on the programme into the next stage of his life.
His comments were also reported by Arise News, which said Keivo accepted responsibility for his conduct and expressed his intention to learn from the incident.
Former housemate thanks Big Brother and MultiChoice
Despite the circumstances surrounding his exit, Keivo expressed appreciation for the opportunity to participate in Big Brother Naija.
He thanked Big Brother and MultiChoice for allowing him to enter the house, share his story and connect with other contestants.
“Being in the house, sharing my story, connecting with amazing people and showing myself, I will never take that for granted,” he said.
Keivo also thanked his family, friends and supporters who prayed for him, voted for him and continued to stand by him during his time on the programme.
He acknowledged that some supporters had hoped to see him progress to the final stage of the competition.
Keivo acknowledges accountability
In his statement, Keivo also recognised that public support came with accountability.
He said he entered Big Brother Naija hoping Nigerians would have the opportunity to see who he was, adding that he was leaving the programme knowing that millions of people had watched his journey.
“Thank you for loving me at my best, and thank you for holding me accountable for my actions,” he said.
The statement therefore combined appreciation for his supporters with an acknowledgement of responsibility for the conduct that resulted in his disqualification.
What led to Keivo’s disqualification?
The confrontation between Keivo and Tram followed a disagreement involving a black shirt.
Reports from Punch and other Nigerian media said Tram accused Keivo of taking his shirt, an allegation Keivo denied. The disagreement subsequently escalated into a physical confrontation.
Big Brother later reviewed the incident and formally announced Keivo’s disqualification.
The official Africa Magic account did not merely describe the incident as a disagreement but confirmed that it had escalated into physical violence and that Keivo was identified as responsible for the violent act.
Keivo turns to faith after leaving the show
Keivo also referenced his faith while discussing what comes next.
He said he was seeking God’s “mercy, wisdom, grace, and strength” as he begins what he described as a new chapter.
He added that he trusted there was a purpose for every chapter of his life, including his experience in the Big Brother Naija house.
His message ended with appreciation for the Big Brother community and a goodwill message to Nigerians.
What happens next for Keivo?
Keivo’s participation in Big Brother Naija Season 11 has ended following the official disqualification.
For the former housemate, his immediate focus appears to be moving forward from the controversy, reflecting on the incident and applying the lessons he said he had learned.
His public acknowledgement of responsibility comes after Big Brother’s decision to enforce its rules on physical violence during the final stage of the competition.
The disqualification also serves as a reminder that contestants remain subject to the programme’s conduct rules throughout the competition, including during disagreements and moments of heightened emotion.
