The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), through its Christian Social Responsibility arm, His Love Foundation, is set to commission a new dialysis centre at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba, Delta State, as part of efforts to expand access to specialised kidney care.
The Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Centre is scheduled to be commissioned on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The ceremony is expected to be performed by Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
New Facility to Strengthen Kidney Care
The new centre is expected to increase FMC Asaba’s capacity to provide dialysis treatment for patients living with kidney-related conditions.
Dialysis is a critical treatment for people whose kidneys can no longer adequately remove waste and excess fluid from the blood. Regular access to dialysis can be essential for patients with advanced kidney failure, making the availability of properly equipped treatment centres particularly important.
FMC Asaba already provides specialised medical services through its internal medicine department, including nephrology clinics and haemodialysis services.
The Federal Medical Centre is a public tertiary healthcare institution serving Delta State and surrounding communities. The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare lists FMC Asaba among Nigeria’s federal medical centres.
Part of His Love Foundation’s Wider Healthcare Programme
The Asaba project forms part of a broader healthcare intervention programme by His Love Foundation, the Christian Social Responsibility arm of RCCG.
According to the foundation’s July 2026 scorecard, it has commissioned 15 dialysis centres across Nigeria, alongside other healthcare projects including five intensive care units, three ambulances, a cardiac diagnostic unit and two X-ray facilities.
The foundation’s interventions extend beyond healthcare. Its programmes also cover areas including education, feeding, social enterprise, environmental and architectural projects, prison impact and rehabilitation.
His Love Foundation said its interventions have reached all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, with reported impact across 650 local government areas.
Why the Asaba Centre Matters
The commissioning comes as healthcare institutions continue to face the challenge of providing specialised treatment closer to patients.
For people requiring regular dialysis, distance to treatment facilities can create additional financial and logistical pressures. A dedicated facility within a federal tertiary hospital can therefore contribute to improving access for patients in Delta State and nearby communities.
The intervention also adds to recent efforts to strengthen dialysis capacity at FMC Asaba. Earlier in September, reports indicated that RCCG donated three dialysis machines to the hospital.
FMC Asaba’s own records also show that the hospital has continued to receive support aimed at strengthening its dialysis services. In April 2026, the hospital reported receiving a dialysis machine donated by the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge.
Broader Healthcare Context
The availability of specialised kidney-care services is particularly significant because dialysis often requires repeated treatment rather than a one-time medical intervention.
The new centre is expected to complement existing services at FMC Asaba rather than replace the hospital’s broader nephrology and internal medicine operations.
