The Nigerian Navy is expected to begin preparations for its 2026 Batch 39 recruitment exercise, with information circulating that the online application window could run from October 2 to October 31.
However, applicants should rely on official Nigerian Navy channels for confirmation of the Batch 39 dates, as the Navy’s recruitment portal currently available online continues to display information for the previous Batch 38 exercise.
The distinction is important for prospective applicants because recruitment exercises involve strict eligibility requirements, official application procedures and designated timelines.
Current Status of Nigerian Navy Recruitment
The official Nigerian Navy recruitment platform currently identifies the exercise displayed on its portal as NNBTS Batch 38 Recruitment. It lists the previous application period as October 2 to October 31, 2025, followed by a nationwide recruitment aptitude test on November 29, 2025.
The official Nigerian Navy website also remains active and provides information about the service, its commands, leadership and ongoing activities.
As of September 28, 2026, Weng Global has not found an official Navy announcement on the current recruitment portal confirming that Batch 39 applications have formally opened or that October 2 to October 31, 2026, is the confirmed application window.
Applicants should therefore be cautious about social media posts, unofficial recruitment websites or individuals claiming that forms are already available.

The previous Batch 38 recruitment exercise required applicants to meet specific citizenship, educational, age, physical and other eligibility conditions.
According to the official recruitment portal, applicants for the previous exercise were required to be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess a National Identification Number. The portal also specified age limits depending on educational or specialist qualifications.
For Batch 38, applicants with SSCE, GCE, NECO or NABTEB qualifications were required to be between 18 and 22 years by December 31, 2025, while some applicants with NCE, OND, nursing, driving, mechanical or sporting qualifications had an upper age limit of 26 years.
The previous requirements also included minimum height standards, single marital status and medical, physical and psychological fitness.
The Navy further stated that applicants must not have a previous criminal conviction by a court and that academic certificates used for the application had to satisfy the stated validity requirements.
These requirements should not automatically be assumed to apply unchanged to Batch 39. Applicants should check the official guidelines once the Navy publishes the new recruitment notice.
Recruitment Process
The Nigerian Navy’s previous recruitment process involved an online application followed by subsequent selection and testing stages.
