Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has forwarded the names of eight commissioner nominees to the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as part of efforts to strengthen his administration and improve governance across the state.

The nominations were formally communicated to lawmakers through a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau. The letter was read during plenary, marking the beginning of the legislative process required before the nominees can officially assume office.

The latest appointments come as Governor Sule continues efforts to reposition his cabinet to meet the administration’s development priorities, improve service delivery and ensure effective implementation of government policies across key sectors.

According to the governor, the nominations were made in line with the constitutional powers vested in his office and are aimed at filling existing vacancies in the State Executive Council.

The Speaker subsequently directed the nominees to appear before the Assembly for screening on a date to be communicated by the Clerk of the House. During the screening exercise, lawmakers are expected to assess the qualifications, competence, integrity and suitability of each nominee before deciding whether to confirm their appointments.
